1971 Triumph T100R Daytona Very good original bike

We have just bought this nice original US import Daytona. The Daytona was so-called because of Triumph’s success at the Daytona racetrack in 1966 and 1967. It was introduced in 1967 to replace the T100SS. as the company’s 500cc sports model. The bikes were made until 1974. They are light. well-balanced with plenty of power; they are best ridden at higher revs. when they really come into their own. These are popular bikes and represent good value in the current market. Our Daytona is a 1971 US export model finished in Olympic Flame and Silver. These later models benefitted from the excellent twin leading shoe brake fitted to the late sixties Bonnevilles. The paint looks to be original and still presents very nicely. with the odd imperfection to be expected given its age. It looks to be a very original bike generally. with excellent chrome. including unblemished wheel rims and silencers. The bike has been converted to run on one carburettor for ease of maintenance. It starts easily. and rides as it should. We have checked over the bike replacing whatever was required to ensure that everything runs correctly. and we have alsoreplaced the chain guard that is missing in the photos of the bike. The bike has matching numbers. an age-related plate. an MOT and is ready to be ridden away.
