SMT900HN22J147183 Ever since the re-emergence of a newly revitalized Triumph in 1990. enthusiasts had been eagerly waiting the revival of the Bonneville brand. one of the most evocative names in motorcycling history. Ten years would elapse before Triumph felt ready to do so. having by then emphatically established its credentials as a builder of thoroughly modern motorcycles rivaling the best from Japan and Europe. Triumph's design brief for the new Bonneville was to emulate the classic style of the late 1960s version while incorporating the best of modern technology in the engine. transmission and running gear. The new Bonneville debuted to critical acclaim at the Munich Motorcycle Show. True to Triumph’s history. the Bonnie quickly became the subject of customization. with aftermarket parts manufacturers popping up all over the place. and custom shops chopping and cutting the bikes in to caf? racers. desert sleds and the like. The machine offered here. my personal sled. was the subject of a little individualism. Traded with me for a ‘60s Bonneville. the near standard bike was in excellent condition with only a few thousand miles on the clock. I have used it for the last few years as a commuter bike and Sunday rider. and now it has 8. 20 miles. With electric start and no puddle of oil underneath. it made a refreshing change from the rest of the stable. Mods include: 30mm taller Hagon shocks. really nice sounding exhaust. replacement shorty rear mudguard with tidy little tail light. cut down front mudguard. both in black. modified and powder coated sprocket cover. fork gaiters. knee pads. desert sled handlebars with really cool grips. Thruxton rear pegs. LED indicators. repositioned. and with an LED dash light. and extended seat bolts. The bike has been well maintained. and with a recent service. battery and tires. needs absolutely nothing.
