Description

Here is a great Triumph to add to any collection, his numbers matching 1966 T120C Bonneville TT Special. This bike is VMCC documented from the works archives of Meriden (included) despatched Oct. 5, 965. Delivered to Johnson Motors LA. I have registration from California going back to the early seventies as well as receipts and four very interesting Polaroids of the bike in race trim including number plate and bump stop seat - huge sprocket on rear! I am the third owner. The bike is very complete and correct but for a few clamps and a hose or two. Clean, ut not over-restored, nough patina is showing to keep it honest. This is about as cool as it gets - good enough for Mulder, cQueen or Knievel - good enough for me. Not a common model of Bonneville - production is often pegged at 1124 or less for 1966.
This TT has all the right bits. Signature straight pipes, pecial cams, ig carbs and 11.2:1 compression make it a handful on track or street. I have always run this on 107 octane leaded race fuel. Yes, have a title and did some street riding, hough it is not well disposed to street service. This thing is fast, ild and LOUD! (License plate brackets remove easily). By far the craziest brit bike I've been on in 35 years of riding. Yet, till a one kick start with the infamous ET ignition system. All major electrical components replaced so it starts runs and stops as it should. Folding foot pegs. No accommodation for battery or lights. No key. No steering lock, ut tube still there. Alloy fenders. The Amal carbs are marked 2 66 389/95 and have been rebuilt. The bike still has drilled bolts on the tank, arb etc. for racing wire. Paint is very nice - no scratches or nicks. Dunlop gold seal tires 3.25 19 front and 4.00 18 rear. Dunlop rims marked made in England. Tires are showing signs of cracking on sidewalls. The motor was completely gone through by a local british expert during the previous owner's time then stored. Must be less than 100 miles to date. Recent seals for transmission main shaft. Left side case shows old repair expertly executed where chain must have broken - common on these. Pretty well sorted and running strong.
I have sold more than my share of exotic and vintage machinery on Ebay over many years with 100% positive feedback so bid with confidence. Inspection welcome at any time prior to auction end. No early end to auction. No buy it now. This is a true auction format - high bidder wins. I will assist your shipper (I recommend Keyboard). Low or no feedback bidders must contact me or be deleted at my discretion. $1000 non-refundable Paypal deposit due at auction end. GOOD LUCK!
