It has become time to find a new home for my 1972 TRIUMPH Daytona T100R. Due to age and a damaged ankle/leg several years ago, wouldn't even think of trying to kickstart this bike anymore...it has lots of compression. I bought this about 12 or 13 years ago in fairly original and unmolested condtion, nd drove it on my property and nearby roads. It was always somewhat challenging to start I believe because of the condition of the original Amal carbs. I installed a Boyer-Branson ignition several years later but that really didn't improve too much. I took it to a British bike shop and they rebuilt the Amals and did a tuneup, ut I never rode it after I brought it home, ecause of work travel. I drained the gas and it has been in the garage for at least 5 years now.It needs a full restoration. The gas tank paint is crazed (no kneepads were in place when I got it), he tires are cracking, rakes were good, lectrical was good, hrome headlight is pitting, ront shocks likely need a rebuild, ngine ran good with no smoking when it was last run, ransmission shifted good when it was last run, heels were okay, xhaust was okay, ome rust showing on various chrome pieces, ubber footpegs need replacement, riginal Lucas headlamp; the turn signals, irrors and air filters were in a box when I bought it, ut I have lost track of that box after a garage move.
When the bike was last in the repair shop, hey commented that it was a frame and engine matching number bike. I think this is a solid base for a nice Daytona restoration and I hope someone can bring it back to life. Clear Virginia title in my name. Original Lucas speedo shows 6828 miles.
