Here is a superb original unrestored vintage Triumph fitted with Gloria single adult sidecar.
This machine is in super useable condition. It starts well and sounds perfect mechanically with no strange noises and no smoke! It is set up very well and is really easy to ride. Gears (3-speed) are good and clutch is A1. Brakes are excellent too and the dynamo is charging well. The bike has been in regular use for the past 30 or 40 years. There is a large file of history incuding the programmes from many events the bike has entered, ostly around the midlands. The bike won best machine over 50 years old at the inaugural event at The National Motorcycle Museum, boxing day 1984. There is a nice framed certificate and a Motorcycle News cutting of the event. The bike comes with V5C registration certificate. The registration number is the original, T 7802, ate of registration is 30th September 1930. There is an old style buff log book from 1942 as well as a handful of MOTs dating back to the late 70’s. There are also a couple of dozen old tax discs dating back to 1940. It seems the outfit was in continuous use throughout the war. There is a photocopied Owners manual and illustrated workshop manual. There is also a lovely letter from the late, reat Bob Currie relating to the loan of an NSD manual for photocopying! Cosmetically the bike is just how you would expect for a well maintained and regularly used unrestored machine. It has that fantastic “patina” that takes 80 years or so to develop. It really would be a terrible shame to restore away this bikes character & history with a fresh paint - job. This bike needs to be enjoyed as it is! The paint on the frame is generally sound & original looking. Paint on the really has that unmistakeable patina of an original 80 year old paint job. Wheel rims have good enamel and spokes are all fine and strong looking. Front tyre is an as new Dunlop K70, ear is as new Avon Speedmaster MKII. Sidecar has an as new Dunlop K70. There is no fin damage on the engine and it seems very oil tight. The exhaust system is the original in serviceable if not pretty condition. The indent in the silencer is supposed to be there! So this is a fantastic opportunity to own a family friendly VMCC vintage event eligible outfit, p and running and ready to rally! Don’t miss this sweet running and very practical vintage Triumph combination!Selling as an excellent running 85 year old with ! THIS ITEM IS NOT ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE! I WILL NOT END AUCTION EARLY!
