Description

So here we have my lovely Triumph TR65 Thunderbird 650 with a genuine 7058 miles on the clock. I bought this just under a year ago for the wife but she really needs something with an electric start so unfortunately it has got to go. The bike is a joy to ride and starts and drives well. The 650 engine is much smoother than my Bonneville and this engine does not smoke and is oil-tight. As you can see from the photos below. cosmetically it is in really good condition for its age and is original and unmolested. apart from the export handlebars that I changed for a better riding position. however I still have the original UK bars and a pair of mirrors which will go with the bike. I have done some minor work on it; the head gasket had a slight weep from it and the brake pads and shoes were glazed so these have been changed for new items. it also has a brand new battery. The black chrome on the exhaust was also a little tatty; so as I wanted to retain the original specification I got it ceramic-coated by Zircotec Ltd for a permanent finish and it looks really good.   The previous owner also sold me a twin pipe exhaust if I didn't want to keep the original system and this is also included in the sale. The bike is not perfect and the chrome on the wheel rims has pitted in a few places. but it is a 31 year old machine and it would not take much to turn this into a concours example. The machine comes with a full MOT history since 2002 and the current test certificate expires in September 2015. It has matching engine and frame numbers and the bike is declared manufactured in 1983 & first registered in April 1985. They only made about 400 or so of these machines so this is probably one of the last ones made before the Meriden factory closed down in August 1983. Comes with a few additional spares. and an owners handbook. etcSo be quick and grab a fast appreciating and rare classic. Realistic starting price and a sensible reserve. Happy Bidding!
