1971 650cc Classic

Offered for sale is my classic (no electric start - a real motorcycle) 1971 650cc Triumph Bonneville. Since buying the bike on eBay in 2005. I have enjoyed restoring it completely. I dismantled the bike. except for the lower end and transmission which I had done by Tennessee British Motorcycle in Nashville 1800 miles ago. I rebuilt. replaced. restored. repainted or customized too many things to list here. Ask for details. The paint is a beautiful dark metallic green. I had the frame media blasted and I painted it with black POR-15. the toughest paint on the planet. I put a retro-look cover over the battery compartment so it resembles the oil tank of earlier models. (1971 was the first year of oil-in-frame. ) I replaced the original Amals with correctly-jetted Mikunis. which I had professionally tuned about 500 miles ago. I added turn signals. which were missing. I replaced the exhausts. which do not have the crossover pipe the original had. and added Dunstall megaphones with baffles. The sound is sweet vertical twin but legal. The bike starts easily and runs very strong at all speeds. Everything works - turn signals. lights. horn. brake light. high and low beam. tach. speedo. etc. The appearance is daily-use good. certainly not perfect. This is a bike to be ridden and enjoyed. not parked in a showroom. The guy at Tennessee British Motorcycle estimated the value at $7000 1800 miles. and a carb/clutch tune-up. ago. The bike is offered with a reserve but can be purchased now for $6250. I can arrange delivery by trailer. Payment by PayPal. Because somebody tried to scam me on another sale.
