Description

Hi & welcome to the auction for my beloved Triumph TT600. She was fresh off the Triumph line in 2000 on a W plate in Red & Sliver. I bought her in 2002 from my boss who had used her to tour round Europe and had put a fair few miles on her & bought a whole stack of accessories. He put a set of Black bodywork on to match the frame and then managed to drop her in a gravel trap at the Nurbugring. so there are some small marks from this on the frame & fork leg!I have owned her since and she has had another complete fresh set of 2002 Black bodywork fitted. all the footpegs were blasted & powdercoated black by a Triumph supplier and all visible fixings have had plastic caps fitted. Topped off with the Triumph Carbon can. single seat cowl and genuine Double bubble screen. Plus some cool & unique bits - Carbon expansion bottle cover. Carbon sprocket cover & chrome grabrail. All one off's & not cheap at the time! - for that stealth look. I had a good few years of running around showing up bigger bikes with the TT's amazing brakes (from the bigger Daytona) and cracking handling. Until it didn't go so well and I got unlucky and used the back of a truck to re-model the front fairing & light! There was no damage to the truck and is not recorded. I had dented pride. the bike had broken top fairing. headlight & clocks. I took her off the road while I planned what to do. after several years thinking I was going to use her for trackdays (as the road wasn't so much fun) and I started collected all sorts of parts for this. I then got distracted by other parts of my life taking center stage and taking up other hobbies which took my time. I have eventually had a bit of time to put her back together with the parts I had tucked away. After 7 years standing with a cover over her I have added a new battery. new clutch adjuster & cable. new front light & re-fitted the earlier front fairing (with some stone chips). bled the brakes. changed the coolant. put in new oil and filter and she is now back up and running. But I have not had time to get her in for an MOT - and have noticed there is a weep on the forks which probably wouldn't pass. It all depends what you want her for whether it's worth doing. if it makes all the difference to you I could wheel her in for an MOT as a look over. So all in all this is not a mint condition bike because of the little accidents. but for the age she is very good and has a stack of great bits on here which I will list below. With a spare engine. shock. front wheel and several sets of bodywork this would be well suited to track use - or maybe you sell the bits to make her a super cheap bike! She was always serviced and looked after and with a bit of TLC could be a cracking sportsbike again. a quick bit of paint and a service/tune up would see her well on the way. Or maybe as a winter bike as I now have to accept she is 14 years old & not a shiny new baby that I still think of her as! To list the bad points as I see them. small scrape on N/S engine cover. gravel pitting on fork leg bottoms & a little on the O/S frame plus corner of front fairing. The N/S fork is weeping and they could probably do with a service. I can't find both of the black air scoops. so one is silver (a splash of paint would sort). There is a small ding on the N/S of the tank from the bars. very small & there is a spare black tank you could fit! Plus now that she has been sitting without running the clutch has a bit of a rattle & the top end sounds like the hydraulic tappets are taking time settling back in - it has quietened after running her up to temperature once. There is an engine light on which was not there when I first fired her up before the oil change - so I think I have dislodged a wire somewhere when taking the tank off to empty the fuel. The backlight on the clocks has stopped working (doesn't affect it in the daytime) I have tried to show the bad bits in the pics & have listed as much as I can see/know. Any questions please. ask. as you can see I have been perhaps over-picky with her faults. but she has always been a great bike which I have loved owning & that's part of the reason I have been reluctant to fix her. Now she runs the Mrs wants her gone! Viewing welcome. time permitting. close to M1 J20/M6 J1.
