Triumph Bonneville T140 E Motorcycle 1978 750cc with factory fitted electronic ignition. US style bars. front and rear disk brakes. Matching engine and frame numbers. This bike is used daily for commuting and starts and runs well. but all-year round use has taken a bit of a toll on it cosmetically as the photos show. Nice original bike for a restoration project or use as is with tax and MOT to August 2015 Over the past couple of years. the bike has had the carbs rebuilt. a new centre stand. a new back tyre a few hundred miles ago. new mirrors. a new throttle cable. a new battery and new clutch plates. springs. clutch pushrod and clutch cable and a new braided front brake pipe. As far as I know the mileage is genuine. I have MOT certificates going back some years which appear to support this. and loads of receipts showing what's been spent on it over the years. Will chuck in some spares - new unused clutch cable and full set of used clutch plates. old carb floats and some other bits and pieces. Faults I am aware of - please read these before you bid :Scratch on tank approx 6cm and paint has bubbled off an area approx 1cm square next to the filler cap. (see pic)Front forks are leaking a bit of oil. I have bought new seals for these. but have not got around to fitting them yet - will supply as spares with bike. There is some rusting and flaked chrome on both wheel rims. Chromework generally (including exhausts) is showing its age and could do with replating. 'Bonneville 750' logo on L/H side panel is cracked around screw. (side panel itself is fine)Engine is reasonably oil-tight for a Bonnie. but she is starting to leak a little around the one of the rocker arms so new seals are probably required in the near future. Also included is a Haynes Manual and a load of paperwork showing what's been done over the years. Why am I selling? I'm still commuting by bike daily but looking for something a little more modern and low maintenance with an electric start!£200 deposit via paypal immediately on end of auction and balance in cash on collection. I reserve the right to end the auction. Please feel free to contact me with any queries. or to arrange a viewing - Bike is in Cardiff South Wales.
