Yamaha FZR750R Genesis Motorcycle - RESERVE REDUCED

Welcome to the auction for my Yamaha FZR750R Genesis - note that this is NOT an OW01!I bought the bike from a friend as a non-runner in 2010 shortly after returning to biking.  Since then it has had:Carbs stripped and cleanedNew chain and sprocketsNew tyres front and rear (Conti RoadAttacks)New full exhaust systemFork rebuild with new stanchions by Revs racing in HalesowenNew Front brake padsJust before I took it off the road about 18 months ago the front brake started pulsing so I suspect one of the front disks is warped. The bike was wearing the purple paint job when I bought it. it was meant to be a copy of Jamie Whitam's Cadburys Boost bike.  The fairing on the bike is an aftermarket fibreglass one. the originals were damaged in a spill even before the previous owner bought it.  However I've got the original damaged plastics and they will be included in the sale - I think a specialist like the Plastics Surgery in Malvern would be able to repair these. I've seen their work and it is outstanding.  Speaking of plastics the pillion seat cover is also included. About 18 months ago I bought another bike to use as a daily runaround and I haven't had the time or inclination to continue bringing the Yam up to standard. so it's got to go.  Up to this point I'd had the forks rebuilt as the original stanchions were pitted. replaced the chain and sprockets. and replaced the exhaust - the original downpipes disintegrated when I took them off.  This will make a great winter project - apart from the brake disc I think most of the work needed would be general servicing. cleaning. lubricating and cosmetics. This was originally a Japanese market bike and was imported into the UK in 1997.  The speedo is calibrated in kph and so the mileage shown is actually in km.  Happy bidding. and if you've got any questions please fire away.  It's a 28 year old bike and its condition reflects this so don't expect it to be showroom fresh!  Remember you're bidding to buy. and that you'll need a van or trailer to take the bike (and fairings) away as it's currently SORNed.

 I've charged the battery and tried to start the bike this evening. it's turning over but it won't fire.   As I said it's been stood for 18 months and it was running fine when I put it away. so it could just be stale fuel or gummed up carbs. I don't know. Just to be clear this bike is being sold as a project and will need some work before being returned to the road.   It was last MOTd in September 2012. when it passed with the following advisories:Offside front indicator damaged but function not impairedDamper linkage rear suspension bearing has slight free playCut to front tyreUneven wear to front tyreExhaust collector retaining springs missing (NB full system replaced since then)Possible oil leak (don't know where. can't see a leak)Noise from rear suspension when moving. possibly indicating seized bearingIf you want to view the bike please contact me through eBay.
