Yamaha RD250lc - light Restoration Project

Welcome to the auction of my RD250lc. I have recently brought this bike as a restoration project but unfortunately my circumstances have changed and I no longer have the time to complete the project and cannot ride it when completed so have decided to part with it very reluctantly. The bike is an import from Germany. I have the NOVA paperwork and the German paperwork to prove its age. All you have to do is MOT on the frame number and then you can register with the DVLA. This will cost 55 Quid and the price of a years tax. If you have any questions on this please ask - its an easy process but you have to do it in the correct order. The bike was in good nick when i got it and was pretty much complete. I have had to buy a new woodruff key. new battery . spark plus and spark plug caps. I have also put some fresh oil and coolant in to run it up and it sounds great - i have only run this for about a minute though as the top gaskets are perished and need replacing and so coolant leaks - and this is obviously not what you want in your cylinders!!!Good points about the bike:Excellent frame - no rust other than a little surface corrosion - I would not paint this unless you want to have the bike perfect2 Brand new Bridgestone tyresTank paint is good baring a small scratchBrand new batteryBrand new plugs and capsAll electrics workBrand new woodruff keyExhausts are excellent - no corrosion at allBrakes are really goodClutch works well (obviously not ride but stops drive when pulled!!)Not so good points:Other panels need paint to be perfectNeeds new top gaskets (about 20 quid)Needs Chain (30-50 quid)Needs carb crossover pipe (standard fuel pipe. pence per meter)No decals at the moment (55 quid here)I will include 2 carb refurb kits. some body filler. plastics primer and a used haynes manual for the winning bidder to get an headstart!!Please note that i am selling this bike as a project and so please come and have a look to make sure this is what you want. My lists are accurate but they are my opinion and yours may differ so i would prefer you to view to make sure you are happy before buying.
