This very clean big old 1979 Yamaha XS1100F has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 24769 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the front indicator lense. grips & the bottom of the airbox. The bike has a few non standard bits:- K&Q style seat. 4:1 Kerker exhaust. rack/rest & engine bars. It has obviously stood a while so the battery is flat & master cylinder isn't working. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. The bike is every bit as nice as it looks here. The wheels are straight and very clean. Forks & yokes are straight with good chrome. Mudguards are both solid & very tidy. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments look great. Fuel tank & side panels are faded but tank is squeaky clean inside and has just minor marks & dents in the original paint. Carburetors are free sliding off the cable. The engine is cosmetically very clean. When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it a few squirts of ether it starts & runs but the carbs do need cleaning. The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

WE HAVE GOT THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN CERTIFICATE OF TITLE

We will provide proof that VAT & Duty are paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT’d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture. The American Title will do this.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA. who will charge you ?55 for the 1st registration & the current fee for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
