Rare Vintage 1971 Yamaha R-5B 2 Cycle Twin For Sale (Pre RD350)

Welcome to John's Cycle Parts and More. I am offering this rare motorcycle for a friend. This is a 1971 Yamaha R-5B. a 350cc 2 cycle twin cylinder. This bike is clean. very low miles (7293). and runs great. These ancestors of the RD 350 differ from the RD series with piston port engine vs reed induction. drum front brake vs disc. and 5 speed trans vs 6 speed. Engine runs tight. smooth and quiet. Chrome is in very nice condition. Paint is overall nice with the exception of an area around the petcock where is leaked at one time ( no leaks now). The original seat is very good. but has one small tear that is easily repaired. Exhaust is DG aftermarket chambers in nice shape. Brakes are tight. tires are fresh. Chain and sprockets are at half life or less. still usable but not fresh. Fork seals show slight leakage. tubes are clean. These rare bikes are a ball to ride. a great collectors piece and great conversation starter at any bike get together. Local pick up OK. Buyer is responsible for arranging transportation !
