1980 Yamaha XS650. 28. 00 miles. The whole and true story: Last time I rode this bike was in 2008. Two days before I parked it. it was loosing charge. I’d charge the battery. the bike will start right up and keep charging as long as I continue riding it but as soon as I park it the battery will eventually drain until needing another recharge. and it will go through the same scenario the next day. Having had some experience with these machines it downed on me two years ago that all it might need was a pair of ignition brushes which in this case the brushes were worn out. In the interim I went ahead and bought two other XS650s. and let the bike sit until 2015 when I decided to do something about it. The bike still has some compression. and I figured if the carburetors are cleaned and it fires up with new oil going through the valves. rings and pistons. it will eventually have the maximum compression. Long story short. I went ahead and put two new tires (front and rear). custom painted the tank and side covers with deep red. and bought a good used seat with no tears. and a good set of air cleaners. and a new chain with only 400 miles. What’s you’d need in MY OPINION to have this bike running is a new ignition switch since the current switch is locked from sitting. clean/overall the carburetors. a rear wheel since the cylinder on the current wheel is locked up from sitting this long. bleed the front brake since the front brake line is disconnected. The instruments look like new; the rear brake drums are good. the clutch. speed o and tacho meter cables are good. intact and in working condition. Bike has clean title and is located in Strasburg. Virginia 22657. You’d be responsible for picking up the bike. paying up-front the required Ebay deposit at the end of the auction. and paying in full through PayPal at the end of the auction before the bike is picked up. Oh by the way I’ve the side covers which I’ve to search for but in the event that I cannot locate them before the end of the auction I’d have to deduct that from the final bidding price. Please ask any questions you’d like to and I’d answer them to the best of my ability without any deception. thanks. Extra Info: Currently bike does not run but with cleaning of carburetors. a new ignition switch. oil change. new spark plugs. and new ignition brushes which I will include in the deal bike will definitely fire up. Not installed on the bike I've are the passenger foot pegs. right mirror. and side covers.
