1980 Yamaha XS650 Special very orininal w/low miles & matching numbers

Although this bike only has 7737 miles. it has been sitting in the original owner's garage for 10+ years. With that in mind it should be considered a project bike. At the very least. it will need all fluids changed. fuel system cleaned and a new battery. before trying to start it. The head gasket and brake caliper show signs that they were weeping. Per the photos. the tank has small dents & scratches. The mufflers are rusted through at bottom rear. Seat cover is torn. XS650 seat covers are available. inexpensive and easy to replace. The attached photos were taken just as the bike was pulled out of original owner's garage. ie. it has not been wiped off or cleaned. Transmission shifts through all gears. Throttle & clutch pull(s) are free & feel correct. Tank was stored dry. so it has less corrosion in it than would be typical for a bike stored for 10+ years. Many XS650's have been converted to street-trackers. bobbers or rat bikes. As original as this bike is. it is a good candidate for restoration. collection. museum or a daily commuter. $200 PayPal deposit due upon close of auction. Balance due within 7 days of auction close.
