I'm the second owner of this sweet "maxi scooter", hich I bought to replace my Honda CX500- getting too top heavy for this old guy. I REALLY like the scooter - perfect for running errands or a fast ride down a twisty back road, ut my Honda CB350 Caf?` Racer project is almost completed and I don't need two bikes - I hardly have the time to ride one!
A few small chips in the paint and the exhaust shield is scraped where Igot too close to thegarage door frame. Always garaged and covered. Probablyenough rear tire tread for another season of riding. Current PA inspection - ride it home! Factory tool kit and owners manual. The Kelley Blue Book suggestsa trade in value at $3250.00 anda dealer selling price of $4785 (!)
Upgrades:
* BiTubofront fork inserts - these were installed by the first owner. The name may be unfamiliar, ut BiTubo is an Italian company that makes racing suspensions and this technology transfers over to nitrogen-over-oil fork inserts for street motorcycles to improve ride & handling. Their kit includes the cartridge, prings and oil and would cost you about $500 to install today. Some US companies offered these for the TMax when it was in dealerships, ut I couldn't find anyone here that sells them anymore.
* Malossi Multivar - I replaced the stock CVT transmission variator when I changed the belt at around 20K miles with this upgrade that allows the sheave weights in the variator to be changed for different initial engagement. Per recommendations, used the weightsfor "medium", hich means if youopen the throttle quickly when stopped make sure you are holding on - it's almost like dropping the clutch on a standard shift!
* Laminar Lip windshield extension - When I first got the scooter, was getting unbearable wind buffeting inside my helmet - this took care of the problem.
* Brake light modulator
* All-weather Dowco cover
* Factory shop manual
* Remote connection for a battery "tender"
I have described the scooter accurately, ut of course, t is sold without any warranty and "as is". If you have any questions, lease ask.
