1978 YAMAHA XS1100 Special

XS1100s  5K7

*MOT until April 2015 and is at present on a sorn as the tax ran out at the end of September.

*The bike starts (needs a new battery) and will tick over on the choke but if you twist the throttle

it has a mind of its own. revs go up and down and it backfires.

*Exhaust system is only 3 months old (Marshal Deep Tone) and the colour of the downpipes suggest there is a mixture problem.

*I'm sure that the problem is with the carb's (jets and balance) and may need carb to head mounting rubbers (can be

sourced direct from japan at a real good price)

*There is a small oil leak from the cam chain adjuster gasket.

*The forward controls are home made and work fine.

*I have replaced the coils-plugs-leads-alternator-carb

filters but this has not solved the problem.

I have had to buy another bike as I need access to a reliable bike 24/7 and at the moment this old 11 isn't.

It has been a great work horse and should have lots of life left in it yet. Just needs sorting and I havn't

got the time. Apart from the problems mentioned everything works ok.

This bike is for sale elswere so this auction may be pulled without notice.

Delivery can be arranged at the buyers cost. Collection only otherwise.
