Yamaha DT 50 MX 50cc 1980s Classic Learner Legal

This auction is for a classic 1980's DT 50 MX 50cc learner legal moped.   I purchased it on ebay as a running bike.   I stripped it down and then spent ages sourcing the correct parts to restore including the rear rack. the original switchgear. the head lamp shrouds. wiring loom. correct chain guard and side panels. the right handle bars. the sump guard etc.   The only thing I did NOT purchase was the headlamp and fairing as I was going to build as a Dakar version. The indicators are not the originals but they are Yamaha. The frame number and engine number match (Quite rare). I don't have the V5 so this will need to be applied for.

The left engine casing was scuffed so I purchased a spare - Its the only reason the casing is off.   The tank is dented and will need some work (Not visible in the pics).   The shock absorber was seized to the pin so this was cut off (New pin needed) and the gear lever had been welded to the shaft so this was also cut (New shaft needed) but again I rode the bike before starting the strip and it pulled well through all the gears.

I also have the saddle which is not shown in the pics.   It is blue and needs a new cover but the base and foam are both good. There is also a Haines manual which I will include if the bike sells "Buy It Now"

It requires a full restoration but sadly my son prefers the idea of a Mini which is now on its way so the DT it is now packed in boxes ready for sale and to make space. Its a shame because these bikes are much quicker than modern bikes and built to last. but I'm sure someone out there will be able to do this project justice.
