Yamaha FZX750 motorcycle for restoration

Description

I bought this bike in 1999 and it has been on the road until September 2013 until the road tax expired.

The bike is stored in my garage and covered.

The MOT expired in August 2014.

Engine turns over although no attempt has been made to start it since then. Exhaust system is in good shape and a new battery was fitted last year.

Only one previous owner recorded on V5.

Declared manufactured in 1990 and first registered in the UK in 1997.

Currently on SORN.

Only 33. 797km (21. 00) miles on the clock.

The reason I took it off the road is because I hardly used it throughout 2012/2013 and having been stood for a while. the engine requires tuning. jets cleaned. etc and the carbs balancing as well as other maintenance work to keep it roadworthy.   There is rust on the chrome work. nuts and bolts and lacquer/rush on some aluminium parts (wheels are good)  There's the odd scuff mark on the seat and scratches on the tank and paintwork peeling around the seat.   The frame itself has rusted areas. but much of this is down to the age of the bike.   Tyres were new a couple of years ago. but again due to length of time standing. may need replacing.

This bike desperately needs someone to give it TLC and would make a great restoration project as all pretty much standard. It's a great looker and quite rare these days to see one on the road.

This would make an ideal Winter project ready to take to the roads in the Spring.
