Yamaha YZ 490 k in Honda CR 250 chassis .

This bike is built from an engine acquired from the Yamaha team back in 1984 . The engine is modified with a tuned barrel and head and has a Mikuni power jet carb stamped with the letters 81 OW 51 . here is no serial number on the crankcase only the prefix 23X . I believe this is one of the engines prepared for Neil Hudson to ride in the Weston Supermare beach race . I think the team prepared two or three engines and sold them off after the event as they were tuned for increased top end power . The engine was bought from Vic Allan  (who was running the team at the time) and used for beach racing by a friend of mine whom  I spannered for .  I acquired the engine some years later and put it in this Honda chassis . This chassis has been crudely modified to take the Yamaha engine but it fits quite well and makes a useable bike . Having ridden it myself I can say it is fast and is a step up from the standard 490 . Included in the sale is most of a spare standard engine with extra ignition parts and manual .
