1998 YAMAHA XJ 600 S DIVERSION

First of all a bit of history. The Divvy was first registered in Italy in 1998 and was imported into the UK in early 2007. I purchased the bike direct from the importer (DemonMX in Canterbury) on 3 November 2007. The clocks showed 34. 22 km (21. 00 miles). Soon after I bought the bike I fitted a motrax km to miles converter so the speedo showed MPH - Couldn't get on with doing the conversion thing in my head!! So for the next 6 years the clocks showed a mixture of Km's and Miles. In early 2013 I decided to change the clocks and headlight to UK spec. The new clocks showed approximately 45. 00 miles and now show 55. 00 miles. So. according to my calculations the bike has covered in the region of 71. 00 miles from new. The original clocks and headlight are available if wanted. The bike was my daily commute to work during the months March to December (unless the weather was really bad!). Over the winter months the bike was garaged. It has been regularly maintained throughout the years I have owned it (I have more than 30 years home mechanic experience).  Some specifics:Body work is deep blue/purple with black fairing and frameTyres; Avon Roadriders with 3mm tread on front and backOil and filter changed twice a year - last changed in JulyFront and rear brake pads replaced in MarchCamshafts replaced last year and re-shimed due to the originals being worn. New chain and sprockets just fitted. Carbs fully serviced in 2013 due to worn throttle shaft seals. Carbs balanced. New Lucas battery fitted at start of the year. Plugs and air filter changed every 2 years. However as the bike is now over 16 years. as you would expect. there some marks and scratches and wear and tear. The bike has never been dropped by me. Also. some parts do show signs of rust but nothing major. The engine is good and sound.  This would be the ideal first big bike for someone who is new to biking (restriction kits available) or. as with me. a great bike for those returning to biking after a lay off.
