MOTOBECANE Z57C FOUR STROKE 125
I bought this little beauty a few years ago with the intention of restoring it. Spent a day swearing but finally got to hear it run then promptly stripped it down into boxes and there it stayed and I?ˆ™ve finally given in and decided I just don?ˆ™t have the time to do it justice. I?ˆ™ve spent the weekend putting it back together and as you can see it?ˆ™s fairly intact. It may look like it?ˆ™s been sat at the bottom of a river but it?ˆ™s all surface rust and all tin ware is solid and just in need of paint.
You?ˆ™re not going to be able to hear the bike run as it will take half a day of fettling so you?ˆ™ll just have to take my word on it.
I originally bought it for a learner bike for my wife. something a little different. four stroke 125 and very quirky.
What you see is what you get. It has no paperwork with it but I made contact with VMCC and it shouldn?ˆ™t be major hassle to get the bike registered. I have no clue about the history. I bought it off a guy who originally bought it at an auto jumble on the south coast.
It would make an ideal winter project for someone.
The bike is fairly intact. I have the old chain. chain guard. rear pegs. brake pedal and a few other bits (pictured in the box). The swing arm bolt was seized so I had it cut and pressed out so you will need another one (I have the old one to copy).
Missing bits (to my knowledge):
Seat (it came with a seat but it?ˆ™s wrong. see picture of box of bits included in sale)
Exhaust - I have original down pipe but it?ˆ™s totally shot and will need replacing.
Speedo and back light
Swing arm bolt (see above - will need a new one making up)
I will try and answer any questions but I know very little about these bikes. I have added a picture of how they should look and NOT HOW IT LOOKS NOW!
You are welcome to view the bike anytime but as I said I?ˆ™m not prepared to spend half a day messing with petrol to get it started. it?ˆ™s bought as seen.
It?ˆ™s collection only but if you want to organise a courier I will send the bike wherever including over seas.
