This is a 1972 Suzuki GT750J with 12. 43 miles. Â I am listing this bike to see if there is any interest in it before I tackle the project myself. Â The bike is very original and complete but I have not had it running. Â I have hooked a battery to it and it does crank over. it has spark and the compression reads 120 on all cylinders. Â The lights. signals. horn. meter lights. electric starter and the electric fan all work. Â What it needs is a complete fuel system cleaning. Â The carburetors and petcock are gummed up from sitting and the inside of the tank smells of old fuel. Â Carburetor kits are available from Keyster and others. and Suzuki still sells everything you need to rebuild the petcock. Â I have no idea when this bike last ran but I am fairly confident that it will fire right up once the fuel system is serviced.
Cosmetically the bike is rider quality but could easily be brought to the next level. Â The tank has a few surface rust spots on it and the inside of the tank is rusty and needs cleaning. Â The side covers are in good shape and have all of their tabs. Â The seat has been recovered at some point and has a crack in the seat pan at the forward hinge. Â The fenders are actually quite nice and the pipes have no scrapes or road rash on them. Â The right pipe has one dent where it appears the kick lever hit it. Â The alternator cover and ignition cover have no scrapes or any evidence that the bike has ever been down. Â Â It has a tool kit. Suzuki ?ˆ?S?ˆ? mirrors. a nice little factory Suzuki parcel carrier on the back. and all of the exhaust cones are present and in good shape. Â The tires are newer Dunlop K291's with plenty of tread and no sidewall cracking.
I DO NOT HAVE A TITLE or any paperwork for this bike.  Since it is a 1972 it?ˆ™s fairly easy to get a Transferable Registration (or a Title depending on your state) but I have not pursued that course of action yet.  I MAY END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME if I sell the bike. or if I get bored and start working on it myself. in which case it will be back in the spring in running condition.
Please e-mail me if you have any specific questions.
