RD 400 Daytona Special

1979 Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special. One year only model. Very original condition. Has after-market exhaust. No turn signals. Newgel cell battery. Tires are in good shape. Original wheels are in nice condition. Original paint looks good but has little nicks and a few scratches which you see when up close. Gauges are in good shape mileage is believed to be correct. I had not ridden the bike since last year when it was running fine I added a new battery and fired it up but it does not idle well unless you leave the choke on a little. Other than that it runs fine. Probably needs the carbs cleaned should be an easy fix. I need the garage space so decided to sell. Bike is located in Fort Lauderdale Florida and has a clean Florida title in my name.

Some questions answered:

Oil injection is still installed and works fine.

Pipes appear to be Bassani but not 100% sure.

I have never had the head off so I do not know the bore I would think it is still stock bore due to low miles.

I replaced the reed valves last year with new YZ reeds the old ones were still good and will come with the bike.

Engine serial number matches frame and title VIN .
