Description

This Reggiani Rep Aprilia has been sitting in my garage since 2008 and the last MoT ran out in August 2009.

I bought it from a friend of a friend who had intended to use it for track days but. after a couple. decided it was too small for him.

I suspect the real reason was that if too much power is applied in second gear it jumps out. I bought a replacement gearbox (said to be reconditioned by Stan Stevens) but never fitted it. Supposed to be straight forward as it is a racing Cassette design that slides straight out and is included in the sale.

I was told when I bought it that it had had a top end refresh but cannot prove this without taking off the heads.  I believe the mileage to be genuine as I have a number of MoT's going back to 2004 when it had done 8068 miles.

I can confirm that the little I rode it scared the hell out of me and I had a CBR600RR at the time!

As you can see in the photos a few of the nuts and bolts have corroded/rusted but otherwise it is in good condition for a 17 year old bike. There is a small mark on one side panel (shown) and the exhaust needs repainting.

If it doesn't reach the reserve I will probably get the gearbox changed and sell it next year.

Please contact me before bidding if you have less than 10 positive feedback or I will remove your bid. This is a UK sale only and I will require a non returnable deposit of £100 paid through PayPal within 12 hours with the balance in cash on collection.

I can deliver the bike at a cost of £1 per mile but would require full payment beforehand.

Thanks for looking

On 03-Nov-14 at 10:44:20 GMT. seller added the following information:

I checked the bike at the weekend. The brakes are still fine and not seized but the carb slide(s) or cable has seized. These would have needed removing and cleaning anyway and will free up with a little WD40. The bike has always been garaged and the engine turns over fine.

I have the Owners Manual and Service book which show service stamps as follows:

3rd Service - 07/07/98 5. 00 miles. 4th Service 24/2/99 6. 48 miles. 5th Service 6/10/04 8. 38 miles. 6th Service 26/06/05 9. 98 miles.

The 3rd Service is held in with selotape so I would think the first two have fallen out but I think it proves the mileage. I was told that the last one was over £500. hence the new pistons. but can't prove this as he couldn't find the receipt. I have a couple of smaller receipts.

Thanks
