BMW R80RT Classic air cooled boxer twin

Hello. I'm guessing that if you're reading this advert - like me - you are already a big fan of this classic variant of the BMW motorbike

Sadly I have decided to sell my trusty beemer as it no longer gets the use it needs and is sitting doing nothing at the moment!

I bought this bike on ''its condition'' from a chap in Wiltshire who decided his riding days were over and have been delighted with it since owning it. The only problem is I just haven't ridden it as much as I thought I might so it needs to go to someone who will get it out on the road regularly. These bikes are becoming increasingly rare and it always gets admiring glances when it's out on the road.

Looked after this bike should have another 25 years of life left in it !!! :-)

I have had it serviced and done any work necessary for either routine maintainence or MOT's since owning it

It comes with a current MOT which expires later 2015 - & although taxed at the moment doesn't come with tax under new legislation

Bike is based near Canary Wharf! London and viewings are welcome

 

The bike came with stacks of paperwork. bills. MOT's including an original owners handbook and service booklet.  At some point in 2003/04 it appears to have been given a new milometer as the current mileage shows 12. 00 odd miles but the earliest MOT shows mileage at 33. 04

In short I think the bike has done about 46. 00 miles - still not very much for one of the famous mile eaters. That's about 2. 00 miles a year approximately

This is the 5th beemer I've owned over the years and I bought it based on the fact it has obviously been looked after by its previous owners. The first registered keeper is Coopers BMW Park Lane so presumably it was a demonstrator.

It also comes with the newer designed BMW insignia Krauser panniers which are also in pretty good nick too

I found a couple of RT for sale elsewhere on eBay which are older and more expensive so in my opinion I think this one compares well for those of you who are watching.

I also found some technical spec off an BMW club site which gives details about the model and dates of manufacture etc
