Description
The bike is very simple in design and construction and was used heavily by the German army during world war two as messenger bikes. They never used them with side cars as the engine is too small. The bigger BMW’s and Zundapps were used as gun platforms while these were strictly single rider messenger bikes. I have several books showing pictures of the bikes being used in various countries during the war. They were also used before the war as civilian transport.
My intention was to restore it to the typical black and chrome civilian look but it could more easily be made to look like the army or air force flat yellow or flat blue.Parts availability is quite good considering the age and brand. These bikes are rare in the US with only a few having been brought over. While in Germany a few years ago I went over to the Audi museum and took 100’s of photos of the bikes they had on display. These will be included in the purchase. I also have an original parts book and an original sales book for the bike as well. These can be purchased separately as they were very expensive.
The bike frame is currently disassembled but the engine/transmission, heels and seat are all still assembled. A few pieces are missing including the exhaust but these can be purchased very easily from German eBay or some of the german parts suppliers. It will need complete restoration including paint, lating, ngine rebuild, ires, rakes, tc. The engine turns over and has good compression.
An immediate deposit of $500.00 is required through pay pal for the winning bid. I cannot arrange shipping but can assist loading into the truck. The bike is in pieces so please keep that in mind. The balance is due upon pick up via cash or pay pal only.
The bike comes with an Indiana Title and bill of sale. Please note that the Indiana title list the engine number as the vin. The frame has no number plate or stamping.
Upon further inspection it was brought to my attention that the frame, heels, uspension and all other components except the engine and speedometer mount are from and IZH 350.

Selling a 1941 DKW / IZH NZ350. I purchased the bike in 2005 from a German motorcycle importer in Indiana. He purchased the bike from someone in Latvia and had it brought over. I began working on it not long after purchase but have not had anytime to work on it over the years and it has been sitting in my garage. I really would like to restore it but have too many other projects and need the space.
