I bought this bike in 2010 to add to our small collection of iconic machines from the sixties. seventies and eighties.

It was never our intention to sell any of our bikes. but a change in circumstances means that we are now offering up for sale all of our collection of nearly 20 machines.

When it comes to the restoration on classic PDs. there is only one name. And that is Gary Burton of BAMW.

Gary specialises in this one model. He finds bikes. strips them down and builds them up as new machines. In fact. in many respects they leave Gary’s workshop in a better state than they were when they came out of the factory.

This bike is immaculate in every way. It was never our plan to ride it much. I think we rode down to Goodwood from our base in Guildford on one occasion. and otherwise the only mileage it has seen has been to our local MOT centre. The original mileage is 56. 00 miles. but the odometer reads just 146 miles. which is all it has done since it was restored.

You could. of course. go to Gary and have him build a bike for you. There’s normally a wait of a couple of years. and given the way these things are. you’ll probably end up paying quite a bit more than we are asking for our example. (Gary’s prices are always plus VAT. by the way!).

Ours. by the way. comes with a couple of extras: the red seat. a small leather tail box (not shown). and a set of ultra-rare original panniers. (Again. not shown).

This PD is as good as it gets. Gary is the man. and if you want perfection there’s nowhere else to go.

We’re asking ?15. 00 for our bike. But we must stress that we are not open to offers.

The bike is not cheap. but it wants for nothing. There is nothing to spend on it. and nothing to do.

We want to sell perhaps half of our collection. and so no particular machine has to go. So please only come to see the bikes if you are happy to accept our price. It will not change!
