I bought this bike in 2010 from Keith Shaw. who is the doyen of R90S restorers. Keith had fully restored the bike in his normal methodical way. and owned the bike himself until I bought it from him.

It is a standard bike in almost every respect. with the exception of the gearbox. It is one of Keith’ s trademarks to rebuild the gearbox. and upgrade it.

It presents very well with near immaculate paintwork and trim. Mechanically. the bike is perfect.

It comes with original Krauser panniers. although these are not shown in the photographs.

I think the restoration was completed around 2006/2007.

The current mileage is 4380. although this is almost certainly not the original figure. Keith zeroes the odometer when he undertakes a restoration. so whatever the original mileage was. this bike is still barely run in. as Mr Shaw’s bikes leave his workshop basically as new machines.

Since I have owned the bike it has covered around a thousand miles or so. which have been accumulated only on sunny summer days.

For most of the time. the bike has sat on a pallet high up in our dry and overly heated warehouse.

It was purchased after much searching. to form part of small collection of classic bikes from the sixties. seventies and eighties.

We had not ever intended to sell any of our bikes. but recent events have caused us to review that position. and so all of our bikes are currently up for sale.

The price we are asking is ?10. 00. and this figure is firm. I am afraid we are not open to offers.

In total. we are offering nearly 20 bikes. but we’ll probably only let half of them go. No bike in the collection needs to be sold.

Prices for these machines vary. and for low mileage. original bikes can easily exceed ?15. 00.

This machine has been totally and expertly restored. and is in a condition that would be difficult to better. The ?10. 00 we are asking seems fair and reasonable and so. if you see the bike and like it. please don’t expect to come away with a deal.
