Description

1966 Spitfire Mk II Special A65SP with the rare Amal GP2 carburetors and large tank, orrect bars, xhausts and seat. I purchased from Mark L. in 2006 and replaced fuel lines, hanged fluids and head gasket and tuned carburetors, an it for 15 miles and then parked it till now. New battery in 2013. Bike ran smooth and powerful. Faster than my BSA Hornet and close to my TT Special. Nice appearance and correct colors/decals but not concours. Has been ridden and cared for, tored inside. Fiberglass way above average. Black CA plate. Center stand only. Original tool kit and pouch. The two GP2 carbs share a center-mounted float bowl and are "handed", he left carb has jet access on the left and the right carb has jet access on the right. Engine and frame serial numbers match. Comes with VMCC certificate showing it is an original A65SP. Also signed CA title, riginal Owners Manual, P Carburetor Manual, ervice invoices and starting instructions sheet. If you want the smaller American tank, can provide an original for $400. Original Spitfire/Hornet tanks are fiberglass. This tank is not sealed and does not leak because I ran only leaded racing fuel. The British magazine Motor Cycle tested an identical model in 1966 and recorded 13.6 quarter mile and 119.2 mph. two-way average top speed with a best one-way speed of over 122 mph. Ask questions 480 seven zero three 78 six seven. No reserve. Relisting due to bidder who bailed. I can recommend a shipper and a local mechanic for inspection. I don't think you will find a bike like this for sale in a year's time, r maybe even two. Thank you for bidding.
