Description

Very Rare 1965 BSA Thunderbolt Rocket. Very original. See second picture showing advert. The bars are much flatter than those in advert. What makes this rare bike even rarer is that it could be the only BSA A65 signed by Carl Fogarty. Third Picture. Older professional restoration mostly done by previous owner. I have bills from that for £6000 plus. (last photo shows some of the bills). Mile shows about 8200 which is probably from the start after the first restoration.  Electronic ignition. 12volt Gel battery. Last year into this year the bike had a progressional engine rebuild by RJM motors. RJM are specialist for the A65 and are known for their A65 race engines. Cost was a whopping £5200. Well thats what a professional blue printing type job costs. Engine. Clutch. Carbs. (second to last photo shows bill). Engine is on first rebore so lots of life left in those barrels. Bike starts first kick most of the time even after a month not running. Reason I had that done was I was planning a major tour on bike with wife and wanted it to be reliable as possible. Tour never happened due to wife's illness. Bike has done about 500 miles since so just run in. Third to last pic shows bike in France on one of two trips I made there before engine rebuild. Now I am concentrating on Jap Two stokes that I started biking on. If you have a nice one I could be interested. This bike is very rare and original and Ive only seen one similar but that had later and probably not original mudguards. It has an interesting luggage rack that might have been specially made for it. Bike has MOT till June 2015 and free road tax. I have V5 in my name. There are a number of spares that I will offer for sale to the winner including a very good head all built up. Please come and view.  RJM valued the bike at £6k to £8k. I have it insured with Carole Nash for £7k. It wouldn't take much to make this a show bike. All the hard and expensive work is done. I am pricing it at just over what I paid for RJM work to sell. Payment by cash. banker draft or cleared cheque.
