Description

This item is a BSA M33 1952. it has the plunger frame and has been fully restored to a very high standard.

The M33 is similar to a B33 but has the stronger M20 frame.

It is a nice bike to ride and sounds wonderful. The engine is a 500cc overhead valve engine.

I spent 4 years restoring this bike. it was all fully stripped to component parts with every part stripped down and paint removed to bare metal. every component not just the tinware. Each

component was then rust treated. 2k primered and finished in a black basecoat and 2k lacquer giving it a lovely deep shine.

The bike was then re-assembled very carefully and all worn or damaged bits replaced with new. I also carefully removed all of the non standard bolts used over the years on it and made sure all

original cycle thread bolts were used. I spent thousands on it. It had new wheel rims. spokes and tyres. bearings. I stripped the gearbox and replaced several bushes and oil seals and also

stripped the engine and cleaned and re-gasketed it. I did not replace any parts inside of the engine as all looked good. (It does drip a little oil though).  The bike runs perfectly and everything works well. with the one exception

of the speedo. the speedo itself reads high but correct speed can be worked out. and the mile-counter does not count but the trip meter does. This could obviously be resolved with a new speedo.

I have covered 200 miles since the restoration. with no problems at all.

It usually starts on the first or second kick and is quite an easy starter.

I am only selling the bike because my circumstances have changed since I bought it and I no longer have a chance to ride it.

Note the bike does not have an MOT as pre-1960 vehicles no longer need one. but it is currently all legal on the road and is registered as an historic vehicle so has free road tax.

I have some pictures of the restoration here :-
