Description

Rare Ducati Sport Bike

1986 Cagiva Alazzurra 650/GT

Very well maintained and restored piece of Ducati History for the price of a run of the mil Japanese sport bike. Only around 200 of these were imported into the United States. This is a 650 cc. proven L twin Ducati motor in a Cagiva Alazzurra frame. Equipped with Marzochi forks and shocks. Brembo disk brakes front and rear and great sounding buds exhaust. This bike need nothing and is ready to ride.

I bought this bike from a Ducati enthusiast with 2 boxes of spares and a 3” binder of maintenance records.   I had intended to modify the bike into a more striped down racer version. After seeing how clean the bike was. how well it rode and learning the rarity of clean examples I decided to gather more stock pieces and to do a few light modifications that could be easily reversed.

The previous owner had cleaned up the instrument cluster to give it more of a no nonsense track look. I lowered the forks down about 1 inch (to improve handling) and machined the triple clamp for a cleaner look and added clip-ons. /p>

After sourcing an SS lower fairing and front fender ( to bring the bike back to it’s 80’s super bike look)  I repainted the entire bike a factory Cagiva Yellow. Being a graphic designer and hating the gaudy 80’s decals I came up with a resto mod inspired graphics update. All of the subtle modifications can be easily reversed. although it is nice having a bike that looks and rides much better than new.

This is your chance to own a rare Italian bike that you can still get parts for at your local Ducati dealer.

The only reason I am selling this bike is to help fund the restoration on another dozen barn finds.   Thanks for looking . Please contact me with any other questions.
