Description

1996 883 Sportster converted to a custom 1200.

Bike is a 9.5 cosmetically with the exception of some minor scratches and a very few unoticeable pits. One of the pits are on the right front fork tube and won't show in the photo (small as the head of a pin and requires close scrutiny to find. There is a small dent the size of your thumb on the left front portion of the tank and it is also impossible to show on a photo because it is so shallow. This won't show either and requires a good look to see even up close. The gauge bracket it broken and I couldn't find a replacement but it is in such good shape otherwise nobody notices in the sea of chrome.

This was purchased as a father and son project. Most of the chrome work was done prior to purchase and pretty much looked this way with just a repaint of the two fenders and cleaning but it required a new top end. The bike has a reconstructed title and in N.J. that means an "S" status which is the same thing. Salvage has SALVAGE across the title and once reconstructed and inspected comes with a little "S" where status is and nothin across the title. Story from previous owner was that it was stolen and recovered and he bought it back and then dropped a S#!T load of insurance money into it. He lived in the city and I have found no indication it was every hit bent or otherwise and rides straight and true and the frame has original paint. I had the fenders redone with the factory paint so it's a perfect match (they were scratched with decals on them). This would be an expensive bike to duplicate and appears as a show bike from5 feet and unbelievable at close inspection with some spider webs in the chrome and minor imperfections in the paint. If you look at the photos you will see that is the case. The previous owner loved and cared for it but fell on hard times and couldn't keep up on it. We rebuilt the top end with the Branch-O'Keefe heads new valves seals Keith Black pistonsNEW cylindersand gaskets. Rods are within specs and inside like new. Chrome everywhere. I think I got a Melanoma standing next to it in the sun. Shines so much I am sure they seen it from the space station. May confuse radar or divert GPS not sure. With the tune and the top end it should have about 100 HP and feels like it when ridden. Very fast and keeps pulling but refined unlike the other beast for sale which is rediculous. I am 6 foot and with the forward controls feel comfortable and with so much new parts feels like a new bike. I only rode about 10 miles to make sure no issues. Nice 5 speed Hot Rod show sportster that has been serviced and ready to ride.

Used bike sold as is with no warranty or guarantees

Reserve is what I have into it minus labor

Adjustable aluminum pushrods angle adapters for the new heads New slash cut 2 inch drag pipes Andrews cams Rocker boxes clearanced for high lift New Taylor spiro pro wires. Screaming Eagle coil. New plugs CV carb jetted at 180/48/.030 HD badlander seat Fat Bob style rear fender Patriot Blue Pearl Paint. Needs nothing mechanically and very very little cosmetically

Chrome everything!!! Makes a 57 Cadillac look like a hoopty. Don't have a mirror no worries you got it. I don't think you could chrome any more except the frame and starter. Probably came with chrome jacket at one time. Someone loved this thing to death and you will too. Wife doesn't even want it to go but need to finish other projects. This is probably the shiniest thing I ever owned. Heck this might be the shiniest thing I ever seen. Chrome may not get you home but it might get you in the door!!! Seen worse in magazines and at shows.

Please don't bid if you have a 0 or less rating.
