Description
1942 U model Flathead Custom Bobber. Bike has won several trophies. Engine lower end was professionally restored by Butch Shirley. Engine cases and serial numbers are pristine. Cylinders, eads, istons, alves, prings were supplied by Flathead Power. Piston tops, ead undersides, xhaust ports and exhaust pipes have aircraft type heat barrier coating. Oil pump is CHP upgraded with late model Sporster Gerotor gears. It actually holds oil pressure. Carburetor is Mikuni. Generator is upgraded to a small alternator that rotates outside the engine case. Electrics are 12 volt. Transmission is a replica of the original 4 speed. Shift control is foot operated with hand clutch and (mousetrap) clutch booster. Primary drive is BDL belt drive with Pro clutch. Both inside diamond primary. In line springer front end with Flanders risers and rigid riser bushings. Handlebars are Fat Boy. Front wheel is 21” narrow with stainless spokes. Rear wheel is 16” with stainless spokes. Front and rear brake calipers and rotors are GMA. Gas tank is “Quick Bob” for early Super Glide. Petcock is Pingle. Seat is K model on springs. Original type rear fender with back section shaved and rounded above hinge area. Tool box is original type. Frame is black powder-coating. I put several 1942 coins on the bike in various places mostly to stop up unused holes. Paint color is 1955 Cadillac Ruskin Blue with old school hand pinstriping. I have over $22000 in invoices for the build. I have no title on the bike since Georgia didn’t start issuing titles until much later than 1942. I have had no problem in Georgia getting a tag with the bill of sale.
