1966 Model # FLHFB ‘King of the Road’ Harley Davidson Pan/Shovelhead Motorcycle

Atherton California was a sleepy suburb of Palo Alto, alifornia. An association called ‘Peoples Police Patrol’, atrolled Menlo Park to East Palo Alto, rotecting its citizens on this 1966 Harley Davidson.

I purchased this motorcycle from Albert Vincent Pinotti. He had ordered the motorcycle directly from Dudley Perkins in 1965.

I have owned the “Christmas Tree” since 1987. The bike has not been restored, t all. The chrome, aint and mechanicals are original. It runs perfectly, ith no smoke, n the first kick.

It has its original California black license plate, addle bags, acks, irrors, ipes, inkert carburetor, nd generator and much more.

Mr. Pinotti ordered this motorcycle from Dudley Perkins Sr., ith the “King of the Road Package”, riginal order slip, nd paid invoice from 1965.

I have all books and records since new, ith Harley Davidson literature, ith flyers and tags, ven the manila envelope from the California Department of Motor Vehicles where the black license plate came from in the mail.

The only mechanical changes have been a clutch cable of Dudley Perkins in San Francisco, nd a piston ring and valve job for unleaded fuel, one by Duncan at Yankee Ingenuity in San Jose, A.

I inspected the barrels, alves and pistons at time of top-in rebuild in 1987. They all looked like they were new inside.

The bike has a front bates ride-off kickstand and a rear stand, nd every option that you could buy in 1966.

For all experts: the windshield and windshield bag, believe are remakes from 1986. I think that the read bag on the bike is also from 1976 (the tour bag). And the pipes on the bike are custom chrome repops from 1967. The perfect original pipes come with it.
