Description

You will NOT see yourself coming or going on this Cafe' style racer. This is built with all new and the finest of parts. It started out as a 2011 883XL Sportster SuperLow. Just finding this model was tough, s it's one of only TWO Harley Sportsters with a 17" rear tire. (The other is the 1200cc version). That with the 18" front, ive it a special stance to begin with. It has 3,990 miles on it and is in factory new condition. Guaranteed to get looks as if you were on a 50k custom. Contact me for more pics or info.
The basis for this build as said, s a 2011 Sportster 883cc XL SuperLow. I picked it up for $5,700.00. It had 3,990 miles on the odometer. The cafe' kit is $2,000.00 so add that to the chosen Sporty and you have a general price tag on the entire project. I found that there was approximately another $2,000.00 for odds and ends. (The exhaust system was $1,000. alone!). This brings the total to $9,700.00, OT including labor. So doing the math you can see that you're getting a hell of a deal. I have receipts for EVERYTHING.
As far as engine work, t was minimal. Other than the race pipes and the Joker Machine air cleaner, he engine is factory stock. The exhaust pipes are made by Vance and Hines and designed by RSD. The system is made for both torque and sound. It alone costs $1,000. Lastly, Cobra Fi2000 PowerPro Tuner was installed to make it all come together, ower wise.
The fairing is made by Harley, nd can accommodate the two factory gauges (speedo and tach). I installed the HD combo analog tachometer/digital speedometer. It also shows the gear the transmission is in and indicates fuel level. It lights up like the Tokyo skyline! The gators or pleated fork boots are from J&P cycles. The forks have a Progressive 2 inch lowering kit installed. The fork brace / fender is custom designed and built. The handlebars are Clubmans with internal wiring. The five hole levers are from J&P also. The contrast cut brake cylinder cover and the rest of the similar contrast cut pieces (derby cover, nspection cover, nd timer cover) are all made by Landmark Machine. This is a theme used on the cafe racer for aesthetics only. Speaking of aesthetics, he front fork sliders are powder coated RED to pick up on the red rear coil spring, nd the red lettering on the gas tank. The front and rear calipers are also powder coated red. The whole paint scheme really comes off nicely.
The gas tank is factory and just re-sprayed VW yellow (originally white) like the rest of the body parts. A race style gas cap is used also. The decal is aftermarket which ties in the race look because the checkered flag goes well with the number plates in the far rear.
The shifter controls and the brake controls are billet pieces made by Chainsycle. They flip everything backwards, ut the shifting pattern is still one down, our up. The brake cylinder is turned around 180° so that the plunger enters from the rear. The pegs are knurled pieces made by Arlen Ness. The brake lines are made by Magnum, nd are a black flexible stainless steel.
The stainless steel number plates were mailed flat for space conservation. Getting them to conform with the contours of the cafe seat was perhaps the most difficult part of the whole conversion. You had to gently roll them on a towel covered edge of a workbench. This had to be accomplished be gently bending them at TWO different axes. Once the desired shape was attained, hey were screwed in place. Then the decals were applied and the whole bike was cleaned and buffed.
The bike comes with a factory service manual, n extra set of plate numbers (3) and about $500. in spare parts!
