Harley Davidson 1918 J / JD Twin Project

Here we have a relatively complete and correct for 1918 Harley J Electric model. (battery and generator)
The frame is a 1917-1919 style. The forks are 1916-1918 style. The rear fender is correct for 1918-1922. The front fender is correct for 1916-1920. The tanks are solid and are 1917-1920 style. The rear wheel is the correct "narrow" flange style as used on 1915-mid 1919 and the front wheel is correct for 1916-1921. The rims (the front for sure) may need to be replaced but these are available aftermarket. The rear wheel is also fitted with the dual brake setup where both an expanding band is used (foot control) as well as a contracting band (hand control) This setup is quite rare and quite desirable as it allows the rider to keep both feet on the ground when stopped on a hill.
The engine looks to be very complete and correct but there is an old repair to the right case. The transmission has the correct 1918 G year code and is also fitted with the correct freewheel clutch.
This may be a good candidate for the NEXT Cannonball as it will probably be in 2018 and they often have a 100 year old requirement.
This project is missing some bits, ut it is a very solid and correct start. I could easily part this out for a fair bit more than the reserve but I'd rather sell it as a LOT.
