1986 Black HONDA XBR 500 "A thumping good bike for single life" MOT 04/02/2016

My Husband says "Good clean Condition for its age and 51. 00 miles. starts readily but runs a little raggedly. possibly needs carburettor adjustment/cleaning/ Fuel filter? Otherwise seems OK. New Cam & rockers at 37. 00 miles back in August '98. Twin exhausts replaced by 2 into 1 and centre stand tang shortened to suit"I say. to quote Chris Dell in Motor Cycle News. 01/09/93. uying used. Honda XBR500 is "A thumping good bike . has all the "traditional virtues" offering a complete contrast to most modern bikes. etc with a VERDICT "it's cheap to run. fun to ride.  I quote this in case you are not acquainted with how responsive this light. good looking machine is to own and ride. I can probably  e mail you a copy if you want to read the full article. Let me explain the 7 previous owners. this bike has been in the family for most of it's life. Bill bought it as 2nd owner many years ago and passed it on to me May 94 when I passed my test and he got his Guzzi. 5 or 6 years later our son passed his test. I bought a Hornet and let him have the XBR.  3 or 4 years later his sole form of transport in Coventry is motor bike with daily commute so what do I do? but let him have my younger Hornet and take the (much more fun) xbr back. No it didn't end there Hornet gets stolen. insurance takes forever so I let him have Xbr back. are you following all this? He goes off travelling and I get my bike back non the worse after a professional overall at Woodies. Other than that it has been owner/owner's husband serviced.  To my shame the MOT's show that bike has only done 500 miles since 2009 and as it has sat in the shed for the last 3 years and the son now lives in Australia. the time has come to let some other family or singleton have the benefit of owning what's fast becoming a rare bit of kit.  So it's obviously a runner. having nearly 12 months MOT. currently on a sorn. lady owner.  available for inspection by arrangement in Prestatyn. orth Wales.
