I bought this bike in 2007. It had been sitting in a parking garage and was in poor condition. I bought it with the intention of turning into a poor man's replica of a late '60s Honda GP bike. I tore it down completely and brought everything into good running condition. It has been bored to the first oversize and new pistons and rings fitted. The cam chain was replaced. The carbs were completely rebuilt with all NOS parts. Other NOS parts include the ignition switch, etcock, nd various other smallparts that were worn or faulty. The front end was replaced entirely with a Goldwing front end, o as to get dual front disks. Boge shocks were fitted at the rear. The seat was replaced, s you can see in the pictures, nd the exhaust system was replaced with a Swarbrick Racing open 4-4 (which was more than a thousand dollars by itself!) Quite a bit of work to lighten the bike was done, ncluding removing the starter motor, ide stand, attery and battery box (a Scorpion AGM battery is located under the seat), orn, ignals, nd assorted switchgear. The wiring loom was simplified and most of the wiring replaced with new. The tires are new Avon Roadrunners.
And then I got bored. So almost none of the cosmetic work I had planned was done, nd the bike sat in my garage. I finally realized I was never going to finish it, o I cleaned the carbs, eplaced the battery, nsured that it started and ran smoothly (I worked out the jetting before parking the bike and giving up on it several years ago) and then put it up here on Ebay.
So, he good: Mechanically sorted, uns well, andles and brakes better then the original.
The bad (depending on what you're looking for in a bike): No signals, irrors, lectric starter (kick only), dometer/speedometer (the original only fits the original fork, nd I don't think there's any way to get the complicated Goldwingspeedometer to work with this setup. The mileage shown on the pictured odometer is accurate, ut obviously won't be once the bike gets ridden.), hain guard, rhorn. The open pipes sound great but obviously are not legal and may get you ticketed depending upon your local cops. It would be no big trick to fit aftermarket baffles, ut then you'll need to rejet.
The ugly: Rusty rear spokes. Trim damage around the tank, ear the steering head, nd some paint damage on the tank from hitting the clip-on bolts. And abodged together license plate holder that works fine but looks terrible.
WRT shipping: I can provide you with the names of a few local shops, nd I'd be happy to drop the bike off at one for shipping. Beyond that, ou're on your own. I'm not willing to crate the bike, ake shipping arrangements, eet you halfway, r anything else. Local pick-up is fine.
The title is clean, n my name and in my possession. No nonsense or surprises there. Registration is good through June of 2016. I do have a "Box-O-Crap" includinga lotof the take-offs (starter motor and solenoid, arb pods, tc.) along with several manuals, arb synch tool, acuum bleeder, aask rearsets, ots of jets, nd other stuff. It's includedin the price, f you want it, ut you have to figure how to get it shipped to you.
Good luck, nd let me know if you have any questions.
