1982 Honda FT500 Acsot - Nice Condition!

Up for auction is a very nice Honda FT 500 Ascot. Overall, super clean bike with everything working as it should. Some light aging exists on the plastic components and around the handlebars. Paint/bodywork/running gear are original and excellent. Inside the tank looks new. Front fenders are known to flake off paint around the mounts. Mine has been touched up with model paint. It's noticeable up close but does not detract from this bike's excellent presence. I've had it for a couple of years and ride infrequently, utting on about 600 of its 7800 miles. It does seep a few drops of oil when sitting. Seems to be coming from the breather hose near the starter. There's also some seeping around the cam tower. Never looked into these since they are minor and my other garage dwellings have taken precedence. Tires have lots of tread but are old with age cracks. They are fine around town but should replace if planning on extended rides. Battery and fork seals replaced a couple of years ago. This bike is easy to ride and lots of fun to cruise around the back roads on. The engine is strong and sounds great too!

Forgot to mention that startup from cold can take several tries, specially if its been a long time since last run. Since starters are a weak link on the FT500, normally spray a dab of starting fluid to avoid excess cranking. Warm startups are right away with no special treatment. Cold startups are less of an issue when ridden regularly.
