Please read this bit. I'm moving house next week and this is a short auction. The bike needs to be collected from east London by Tuesday 21 October at the latest. Please bear this in mind as I have no alternative collection point.
I bought this lovely CBR1000F-J in May 2013 from DC Butler Motorcycles in Bishops Stortford. It had seen little use over the previous few years before I bought it. as the mileage record on the MOTs attests. Between 2008 and 2013. despite being MOT'd every year. it covered 34 miles. Mileage was recorded as 19. 03 in 2008; 19. 37 in 2013.
When I bought it. it needed a new clutch and new tyres. which I had fitted.
I used it to commute 50-odd miles per day between May and September 2013. then laid it up in my garage over Winter.
In March 2014 I got it out and had it serviced and fitted with new tyres and a new speedo cable - it had corroded over Winter making the needle erratic. I have the receipt from DC Butler for the service on 29 March 2014 - £601. 72
Again. I commuted on it every day until three weeks ago. but I'm moving to Scotland next week and I won't have a garage. so it has to go unfortunately. I love this bike and it's never given me a moment's bother. It has the usual noisy cam-chain tensioner. but the noise disappears once the bike is warm and it never bothered me.
It is all original. even the exhaust system. which is in brilliant condition.
The fairing panels have a few nicks and chips as well as a crack or two on the offside - please see the photos.
Someone seems to have prepared to for nicking from outside my office a few weeks ago. by breaking the ignition barrel away from the yoke. I have a brand-new ignition barrel and keys and a salvage yoke to go with the bike.
It needs a service. new tyres and rear brake pads. and will need new front pads before too long. but it's rideable as is. A very easy Winter project for someone.
There is not much history - a few MOTs. the original bill of sale (to me) and the receipt for the major service I had carried out. The supplying dealer said the previous owner had the manuals and service history for it and he said he would get it for me. Despite badgering him for it over and over again. it never materialised.
In all the time I rode it. I never saw another one in this or any other colour scheme.
I'm a mature rider and always treat my bikes with respect.
This is a no reserve auction and the bike will be sold to the highest bidder. There is no buy it now price and the bike is not advertised elsewhere.
