Description

1966 Honda Blackbomber CB450 K0 4 speed.

With the help of my Honda trained mechanic friend I have been restoring this bike since I aquired it about 10 years ago.  It has been a side burner to my other bomber restorations so I have not been in a hurry.

I have mainly concentrated on replacing the non bomber parts (as far as possible ) that came with the bike  Many of the hard to find parts have been fitted including correct and useable silencers (replicas are available from David Silver Spares) correct stator cover. nbsp;correct DID rims being original and in good condition. Correct for the uk Dunlop ribbed front new tyre. try finding one of those now. correct starter motor. correct elephant horn. correct rear shocks. correct rear number plate holder and rear light unit. correct 14c carbs. correct handlebar controls. correct headlight ears with both upper and lower chrome parts. correct speedo and tacho unit. correct tank badges. new cables. new battery etc.

Most of the expensive chrome work has been done to a high standard. The engine has been examined and rebuilt with replacement parts as needed.  The paintwork is fair but not professional. Needs an aluminium weld on the casing where it probably suffered some chain damage. a common event on this model

The bike is up and running and now has a new MOT . Does not have V5 so opportunity to register the bike in your name and be the one and only owner. a rare thing for a bike nearly 50 years old and will add to its value.

The bike now looks very much a true bomber and I would describe this as appealing to someone who knows the bomber and who realises just how many of the correct parts are fitted. I f you have been trying to find a good bomber you will know just how hard it is to find one running and with original parts. I would say it should be a good rider allowing the new owner to undertake further restoration upgrade work if that is want they want to do.

The pictures above form the description together with any other questions you may want to ask via this listing. The bike can be seen working but is sold "as is". being nearly 50 years old.

A deposit of £250 is required within 2 days of buy it now purchase with the balance in cleared funds prior to collection. by arrangement.
