1997 HONDA BLACKBIRD CBR 1100 XX GREY

I am selling my Blackbird as I fancy a K5-6 GSXR1000. I no longer need a sports tourer as my wife is taking her bike test and I have just bought her a ZZR600.

I bought this bike as a project in August 2013. due to blowing up my ZZR1100. nbsp;this bike had been stood for sometime. so I have completely strip down and rebuilt the bike.  The bike has had all the fluids changed. new plugs. air/oil filter. engine flushed and new oil. nbsp;I have also fitted a new aluminium radiator. electric fan. new front and rear pads. front and rear brake calipers have been refurbished. new rear wavy disc. new renthal gold x-ring chain. new tinted bubble. new rear hugger. new alternator. new battery. nbsp;the nose cone and side panels have been resprayed and new decals fitted. I also fitted Micron end cans as per pictures.

The water system has been flushed out and now benefits from Evans Waterless Coolant.  This is a chemical based coolant that will last the life time of the bike and never needs changing. it can also be reused when drained off for repairs.  Evans will not corrode any of the components and only freezes at below -40. it also allows the engine to run hotter and burn the fuel more efficiently. nbsp;Evans has a boiling point of around 180 degrees so the coolant system should never pressurise and therefore the cooling will be more effective.  

When I bought the bike it had just over 19. 00 miles on the clock but the speedo and rev counter were not working. I purchased replacement clocks with 13. 03 miles on them. so unfortunately I cannot confirm the actual mileage. the bike passed it's MOT in 2013 without any advisories.

I took the bike to the TT's this year and put it through it paces around the circuit. I was not disappointed with the performance. to be honest I was surprised how well the bike handled and held its own with the sports bikes.  Since being back I have fitted new front and rear Dunlop Sportsmart II tyres. as well as having a new cam chain and tensioner fitted. the bike was MOT'd in Sept 2014 and passed again without any advisories. I also renewed the road tax for 6 months at the beginning of October.

There is a Datatool System 3 Alarm/immobilisor fitted with 2 key fobs. a Givi rack and I also have the original exhausts which are to be included.

I will be using the bike daily to and from work as my car is in the garage.

The bike starts first time. there is no unwanted noises. nbsp;smoke or oil leaks from the engine and plenty of power on tap. nbsp;the gearbox is spot on and precise. nbsp;the handling is good even when fully loaded with pillion and the bike eats up the miles on the motorways and is also a joy to ride on the back roads.

Who ever buys this bike will not be disappointed and should have many years and miles of pleasure to come. I am looking for around ??2000 for the bike but will consider all reasonable offers.
