Description

I built this custom KZ back in 2014. Anything that needed attention has been overhauled/upgraded with new OEM parts or custom parts that are better than the OEM stuff.

The bike was displayed at the One Motorcycle show 2014 in Portland. Since then I put about 1700 miles on the bike doing the shakedown on it. It starts runs rides and stops better than the stock.

Here are some high lights of the build:

Engine:

Complete overhaul

Enamel paint(semi-gloss black) on crankcase and top end wrinkle finish on covers

Wiseco 10.25:1(1015cc) kit

Bored and honed by a local reputable machine shop

Valve guides + seals

Valve seat cut & lapped

Stock cams although the valve cover has been modified to accept highlift cams

D.I.D cam chain

APE cam chain tensioner

Seals gaskets bolts & nuts

96hp at the rear wheel

Exhaust:

Kerker pepro 4 – 1 headers painted with high heat coat(matt black)

Reducer

Stainless GP style exhaust(Danmoto)

Fuel:

Pingel high flow petcock single outlet

New fuel cap(Chrome)

Mikuni VM29(smoothbores) ultrasonic-clean & rebuilt with new parts/jets/gaskets

Jetted on dyno in March 2015

K&N air filters

Transmission/Drive system:

Clutch pushrod kit with needle bearing

D.I.D 530 gold drive chain

PBI offset front sprocket 18t

New rear sprocket 40t

GSXR1000 cush drive system

Electrical:

Dyna S electronic ignition

Accell 3 ohm coils with suppression core wires

New stator

New reg/rec

LED turn signal paired with LED flasher

LED tail/brake light

New controls/switches + fuses

KOSO multi speedometer(electronic tach all in one unit)

Hella off-road headlight converted to fit h4 bulb

Shorai Battery

Chassis:

Custom battery box under the seat

Braced and modified to accommodate mono-shock set up

Frame indented to accommodate the new chain line and 180 rear tire

Tarrozi rearsets with new linkages

Allballs tapered bearing for the triple tree

Custom machined sleeves in the swingarm to accept KZ pivoting shaft. New needle bearings

Body:

Side covers fabricated with perforated metal and round tubings

Powder coated frame side covers and wheels

Stock gas tank stripped paint and clear enamel over it to prevent further rusting

Fiber glassed seat pan sealed and painted black

Custom tuck n’ roll seat with white piping

Brake:

Rebuilt CBR900RR front master cylinder

Rebuilt CBR900RR rear master cylinder

Rebuilt Tokiko front/rear calipers with new seals and pads

Suspension

Front end – complete swap with 98 CBR900RR new bearings and seals

Rear End -- complete swap with 01 GSXR1000 new bearings and seals

Control:

Dirt style shorty grips

Renthal handlebars

New clutch cable new throttle cables

MSR clutch lever/adjuster

CNC adjustable brake lever

Custom made braided stainless steel brake lines
