KAWASAKI GPZ500S RED

Here we have for sale my Kawasaki GPZ500s 1989. I?ˆ™ll be sad to see it go! I'm selling the bike as spares or repair. I was going to break the bike but it?ˆ™s too nice to break! The bike was running lovely and I've had a great summer on it until last week when the bike decided to not function as it should.

In my view I think a piston ring has gone. I know a fair bit about bikes but I'm not a mechanic so I?ˆ™d recommend you come and have a look / listen to the bike as it starts and ticks over it?ˆ™s a bit lumpy as like I said it?ˆ™s not functioning as it should. But anyone with knowledge of bikes will no doubt be able to figure out what?ˆ™s wrong quickly.  I've had a quick look and there are plenty are parts out there and a new set of piston rings are only £43. 00.

The bikes had a few new parts including?ˆ¦

New Lucas battery. Tyres 8 months ago (loads of life left on them. see photos). New Front Brake Lever. New Handle bar grips. Handlebar Allen Bolt Caps x 6 and a New Right Hand Wing Mirror as the original wasn't easy to move / position.

Up to last week it was running fine and working well. I've been on a few long trips with it and it?ˆ™s never let me down mechanically.

Having said that it?ˆ™s not a brand new bike. I have listed everything I know to be wrong with it in the description. It does have a Scratched exhaust. some marks on fairing.  

I'm selling it is because I've started a degree course so don?ˆ™t have spare time to fix it and I've been offered a new bike cheap so I'm buying it so I?ˆ™ll need the space.

I'm no expert on bikes and I've only really scratched the surface on this one. I've had no reason to go digging as it?ˆ™s been so reliable! I'd encourage any potential buyer to come and see the bike. and any inspection is welcomed.

This is a fun bike. quick and nimble and easy to ride and it has more than enough power!

The bike is MOT?ˆ™d until Feb 2015 but doesn't come with any Road Tax due to the New Road Tax changes in effect from Oct 2014.  The Bike is also HPI Checked with certificate from when I bought the bike.
