Vintage KTM 420 - AHRMA

I am in the process of selling off some KTM' I have collected over the years. This is one that I believe to be a 1979 KTM 420 (if you know differently please let me know). The bike has been in storage for the last 3 years. The individual I purchased it from said that it ran at some point. I have not attempted to start it so for the purpose of this auction lets assume the motor will need to be rebuilt. The motor has compression and turns over. I did notice a wire or two hanging down from under the tank which I think may have been for the kill switch. If you are a KTM fan you know how difficult it is to find the 420's in decent shape. It i probably one of the most popular KTM's net to the 1981 KTM495. The is a good core bike to start with. I will go into some detail below.

• Frame # - I can not find a number stamped on the frame neck
• Motor # - 9 - 5600165

• Body - plastic seems to be all new except for the tank which is painted (decent paint work). I don't believe this a 1979 tank. Looks like a 1980-81 tank.Frame has also been painted and seems to be close to the original color. I think the seat is original and there is a small tear on the side.
• Wheels - Sun rims look pretty good and are stamped - 3 /79. I worked on a few spokes and they should clean up nicely. New tires.
• Exhaust - Pipe has had repairs and the silencer is missing.
• Shock are new (progressive's)

SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I don't mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you.
