MZ 500R Rotax-engined 4 stroke with 12 month MoT and Krauser Panniers

HISTORY FROM NEW

This bike has covered 60. 00 miles and will probably do the same again. It was bought new by a splendid gentleman called Jim Dutton when he retired. He used it to tour Russia and Scandinavia. In his 80s. he bought a scooter and sold it to a younger neighbour who did a top end overhaul (rings. cam belt).

I bought it in 2011 and upgraded it further (brakes. silencer. general fettling). since when I have toured Ireland and Scotland fully loaded. with no problems. It starts. goes. handles and stops very well indeed. returning 60 - 80+ mpg. I am only selling because I have bought a BSA A7 to restore and have too many bikes!

GOOD

* Sailed through MoT last week with no advisories

* Krauser panniers - all locks work

* Two ignition keys

* Owner's handbook and dealer service record

BAD

* Speedo glass cracked and needle wanders a little around 60mph

* Rev counter erratic - could do with replacing

I have the plastic 500R nacelle (unpainted).
