Description

Pictures 1 and 2 show how my bike used to look like. Unfortunately the rest of the photos show a stalled project. I bought the bike in May 1981 and used it for years as my only mode of transport and enjoyed every mile on her. I added the full Polaris fairing as well as the Krauser panniers and topbox not long after I bought it. It has alloy rims. Stewart single carb manifold. 3 phase alternator. Pazon ignition. helicoiled exhaust ports. Lockheed front caliper conversion. stainless virtually throughout. As is usually the case a family came along and the bike got put in the garage and I decided to strip it back and rebuild it. I got it up and running when the washer from the sump filter body worked loose and got caught under one of the cam lobes and squeezed a crease about an inch of the crankcase. I stripped the engine again and got the case repaired by a company that the local classic club uses. I have tried to get some assistance to get it back on the road but without success and as I have recently bought over a business I have even less time to spend on it. There are lots of new parts fitted like 3 phase recitifer. wiring loom. Pazon ignition. oil tubes. etc. I even bought new ring compressors recently as well as a full gasket set and Mark II Amal. The bike is 99. 99% complete. The only missing parts are the sump filter guaze. washer and clip. All the parts are stored in plastic labelled cases. The tank and side panels will require refurbishment. The photo of the engine is just to show it as being there but there are no internals fitted.  The engine stand will also go with the bike as will all the Norton tools I've bought over the years. I'm hoping to get enough to buy a working classic bike. preferably Norton or Panther. The bike is based in the south side of Glasgow so viewing can be arranged. If you want to talk on the phone them send me a message and we will arrange it. The bike is advertised elsewhere so could be withdrawn at any time. I'm  led to believe that this is one of the last Mark 3 to leave the factory.
