Up for auction is my 1966 Francis Barnett Falcon 199cc motorcycle I have owned since 1979. It has not been ridden since 1980 and has been stored in a dry garage for the past 22 years but was kept outside. prior to this. and has suffered from corrosion and is in need of a new home and restoration.
I have the V5 and the original bill of sale (£177-10s on 25th May 1966) and the bike is complete (minus a 6v battery) and one of the white side panels was lost but I have a spare set of green ones of the same design.
The bike was last ridden in 1980 and the last MOT in 1979 shows the mileage at 7. 56mi and its now reading 10. 31mi. The tyres ?ˆ“ although in need of replacement due to their age ?ˆ“ are original with a fair amount of tred still on them.
Although the bike is 99% complete the seat pan has rusted through and the seat foam & vinyl covering perished; also the wipac headlamp switch knobs have sheared off; the bike also has some rust ?ˆ“ as in the photographs. Other than that it is not seized. the gears change and should be an excellent renovation project.
It has a built-on rear carrier and a prop stand.
I had ambitions of restoring the bike myself but realistically I don?ˆ™t have the skills and desperately need the garage space. I am therefore listing the bike with a modest starting price of £299 with no reserve.
?· The bike is located in North Hertfordshire and any inspection prior to the auction closing is welcome.
?· The bike is for collection only (sorry but too big to post!) and for cash on collection ?ˆ“ no Paypal please.
?· The Auction will run to the end; there is no ?ˆ?buy it now price?ˆ™ and I don?ˆ™t intend finishing the auction early.
?· The bike needs to be paid for & picked up within 5 days of the end of the auction.
?· Please see my feedback & bid with confidence
Happy Bidding
